Today is the thirtieth anniversary of the Challenger Explosion, witnessed by millions on live TV. It is still one of the worst accidents in the history of the American space program. It killed all seven crew members, including a teacher who had won a national competition to travel on the space shuttle; her name was Christa McAuliffe. It was one of those events, that if you witnessed it, you never forgot it.
