April 2nd, 1964 – The Beach Boys recorded their next single ‘I Get Around’, which became their first US No.1 in the summer of this year.
February 13th, 1976 – Phil Collins takes the role of lead vocalist in Genesis since the departure of Peter Gabriel. A Trick of the Tail is released today it’s their first album with this new arrangement.
January 16th, 1996 - Jimmy Buffett finds inspiration for a new song 'Jamaica Mistaica' when Jamaican authorities open fire on his seaplane, mistaking it for a drug trafficker's plane.
October 17th, 2008 - Madonna and Guy Ritchie announce the end of their seven year marriage. The press reported that without a prenuptial agreement Ritchie could receive around $25M of Madonna’s fortune.
September 26th, 1981 - The Go-Go's started a six-week run at No.1 with their debut album 'Beauty And The Beat.' It would go on to become one of the most successful debut albums of all time selling in excess of two million copies.
