Storms Bring Traffic Tie-Ups on NJ Roadways – Traffic Updates

Severe thunderstorms are causing numerous traffic snags in NJ and now flight delays. Here are your live traffic updates on road conditions, transportation in NJ.

AIRPORT DELAYS:

Newark airport reports general departure delays of an hour in length and increasing. General arrival delays are shorter, about 15 minutes or less as of 9:37 a.m.

Teterboro airport reports general departure delays of 30 to 45 minutes and increasing due to a gate hold and taxi delays as of 9:45 a.m. Arrival traffic is experiencing delays of 15 minutes or less.

NJ ROADWAY ALERTS:

At 10:21 a.m. in Aberdeen: Flooding is causing a lane closure on Route 35 Southbound between Cliffwood Avenue and County Road in Aberdeen. 

At 9:50 a.m. in East Rutherford: A left lane is blocked due to an Accident on Route 3 westbound in the area of 120/ Paterson Plank Road/ New Jersey Turnpike - Western Spur.

At 9:50 a.m. in Atlantic Highlands: A partial lane closure due to an accident is slowing drivers on Route 36 southbound in the area of Grand Avenue in the Atlantic Highlands .

At 9:32 a.m.  in Ocean Township: An accident on Route 18 southbound near Exit 10 / Route 66 is causing backups in Ocean Township extending to Deal Road at Exit 11.

At 9:20 a.m. : Flooding has caused ramp closures in both directions on 440. Ramps to Route 9/ Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge are closed.

At 8:58 a.m. in Monmouth: A non-working traffic light on Highway 79 and Lloyd Road is causing delays in both directions in Marlboro.

At 8:53 a.m. in Sayreville: Traffic is sluggish and two lanes are blocked due to an accident on Route 9 & 35 southbound Victory Circle in Sayreville.

At 8:45 a.m. in Monmouth: It's stop-and-go traffic in Monmouth on the Parkway northbound between Exit 117 and Exit 127.

At 8:30 a.m. in Hamilton: All lanes are closed and drivers are experiencing a 10 to 15 minute delay due to a downed tree on 195 westbound at Exit 3 - Hamilton Square - Yardville Road.

At 8:30 a.m. in Edison: An Exit ramp is blocked due to flooding on 287 Exit 1 - US 1 in Edison.

At 8:27 a.m. in Woodbridge: Flooding has caused a ramp closure and cars are being detoured in Woodbridge on the 440 ramp southbound to US Route 9 / Garden State Parkway.
