Severe thunderstorms are expected to bring sudden, heavy rains, water ponding on roadways and gusty winds up to 50 mph. Hail is possible along with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightening.

NJ thunderstorms causing airport delays

As of 8:15 a.m.: Departure traffic from Newark International to Philadelphia International Airport is delayed until at or after 9 a.m. today due to thunderstorms rolling through NJ.

As of 8:15 a.m.: Due to thunderstorms, flights at Newark International Airport are experiencing general departure delays of 15 to 30 minutes in length and increasing. Arrival traffic is delayed 30 to 45 minutes and increasing due to weather.
