Authorities say it's not yet clear which driver may have been at fault in Tuesday's crash, which occurred on Interstate 80 in Paterson.

Trooper Louis Pakovics, who had his emergency lights activated, was attempting to change lanes when the collision occurred. The impact caused the police car to spin and come to rest on the shoulder.

Pakovics, who is assigned to a substation in Totowa, was treated at a hospital for minor neck and back injuries and later released.

The box truck driver, Franklin Walthour, was not hurt.
