Irish Eyes will be smiling all over New Jersey this weekend with with more than two dozen St. Patrick's Day parades and festivities, beginning with Newark's parade today Friday afternoon.

Below is the ultimate roundup for 2016 St. Patrick's Day family-friendly fun in the state.


 

Saturday March 12

It's dubbed the "Greenest parade in all of New Jersey!" The 32nd annual parade steps off at noon in Seaside Heights from 60th Street south to 45th Street. There's also an Irish-American festival at 45th Street Village, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Be aware: Bridge construction means you should avoid Route 37 to Seaside. Here's some suggested alternate routes.


Saturday, March 12

It's among the oldest and biggest in New Jersey — the first St. Patrick’s Day parade in Morris County happened in 1780. Saturday's festivities at the Morristown Green begin at 10:30 a.m. The parade steps off at noon from Morristown Town Hall and marches down South Street.

In Elizabeth, there's an 9 a.m. Thornstick Mass with the Elizabeth A.O.H. at St. Patrick’s Church. The parade in Union steps off at 1 p.m. along Morris Avenue at Commerce Avenue. A reviewing stand is at Morris & Stuyvesant Avenues.

Atlantic City's 30th annual St. Patrick's Day parade begins at 1 p.m., just north of the Garden Pier and the Boardwalk. It ends at Albany Avenue and the Boardwalk.

The Keyport Fire Department is running its 11th annual St. Patrick’s parade. Kick off is at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church on Maple Place. The parade will end at Fireman’s Park.

The Hamilton Township parade begins from the Nottingham Fire House at 1 p.m.

An opening ceremony on the front steps of North Wildwood City Hall starts at 11:30 a.m. The parade begins at noon, heading north on Atlantic Avenue to Olde New Jersey Avenue.

The South Amboy parade steps off at 2 p.m., along South Pine Avenue. It ends on Broadway at the reviewing stage.


Sunday, March 13

New Jersey 101.5's Big Joe Henry will be "Livin' Large and Lovin'  Life" at the Asbury Park parade!

The Asbury Park parade steps off at 1 p.m. at 5th Avenue & Ocean Avenue. It heads south onto Cookman Avenue through the heart of Asbury’s cultural district. The parade ends on Main Street.


Sunday, March 13

The 35th Annual Bergen County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade steps off in Bergenfield at 2 p.m. It proceeds along Washington Avenue.

Note: There's a St. Patrick’s Day evening Mass on Saturday (day before) in Tenafly at SMA Fathers.

The Freehold Borough Arts Council is holding its 5th annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Starting at noon, the parade will run from Borough Town Hall to the Hall of Records. There also will be Irish dance and musical performances.

The 8th annual Hackettstown parade begins at 3:30 p.m.

The Rumson parade starts at 1 p.m. on Allen Street and River Road. It ends at Carton Street and Forrest Avenue.  Organizers expect it will last about 90 minutes.

The 25th annual Somerville parade steps off along Main Street at 1:30 p.m. There's also vendors and specials throughout downtown Somerville.

Trenton's 31st annual St. Patrick's Day parade will have opening ceremonies on the steps of St. Anthony’s Church on South Olden Avenue at 1:30 p.m.

There's an official parade after-party at Trenton Social on South Broad St.

The 65th West Orange Parade steps off at 12:15 p.m. from Main Street & Mt. Pleasant Avenue.  There's also a morning Mass at St. Joseph's Church.

The parade steps off from Woodbridge High School at 1:30 p.m. and ends at Town Hall. Before that, there's a Town Hall flag raising ceremony at 9 a.m.
