It comes as no surprise to faithful fans who tried to buy tickets and failed miserably, but 'Springsteen on Broadway' is a big hit. The show made over $2.3 million in just its first week at the Walter Kerr Theatre in Manhattan. That's only five preview shows, with an average ticket price of just under $500. (For perspective, it's right ahead of 'The Lion King', and behind 'Hamilton' and 'Hello, Dolly!', all doing eight weekly performances).

Bruce Springsteen is credited as both writer and director of his Broadway show. Which means the run also could put Springsteen that much closer to becoming a member of the elite EGOT club. The 20-time Grammy and one-time Oscar winner now is eligible for the Tony Awards.

But, the completely sold-out run means even Tony voters aren't guaranteed to squeeze into a performance. 'The New York Post' says there's a chance that Springsteen could receive a 'special' Tony. He wouldn't be the first, as Barry Manilow and Diana Ross both received Special Tony Awards for Broadway concerts in the 1970's.

As for an Emmy Award, the HBO special 'Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band' in 2001 did score two technical Emmys. But, Bruce was too busy performing on-stage to do his own lightning, so it doesn't put the trophy in his hand. (He'd have to work on a fresh nomination for a TV project).

Last but certainly not least, Springsteen fans worried that "winter is coming" can try a ticket lottery for the Broadway hit. 'Springsteen on Broadway' is offering a digital lottery for all performances, slated through early February. Click here for details.
