As tensions rise in Jersey City over the horrific death of officer Melvin Santiago, Assemblyman Ron Dancer is trying to renew conversation to bring back to death penalty for cop killers.

According to Kevin McArdle's report, the bill would be reinstated if: the victim was a law enforcement or corrections officer and was murdered while performing official duties, or because of his or her officer status; the victim was less than 18 years old; or the murder occurred during the commission of the crime of terrorism.

Would you support bringing the death penalty back under those provisions? Would bringing back the death penalty stop these senseless acts of violence against police officers and corrections officers?

Take the poll below and let us know if you would support the measure.
