NJ Transit says crews finished making repairs in Little Falls early Thursday.

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. said the truck driver has crossed the tracks but backed up after failing to make a sharp turn Wednesday. That's when the train struck the trailer, which contained hundreds of buckets of paint.

The paint buckets went flying and seriously injured a crossing guard, who remains hospitalized.

Others who were injured were released.

The truck driver was charged with a railroad crossing violation and careless driving.
