NJ Transit Train Hits Truck In Little Falls
An accident between an NJ Transit train and a truck in Little Falls injured 10 people, two seriously.
WABC TV reports that the line's #1006 train hit the truck on Main Street around 8:15AM. Several passengers on board as well as the driver of the truck are being treated for injuries.
NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says the train was carrying 71 passengers and crew when it hit the back of the trailer at the Little Falls crossing at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The seriously injured include an NJ Transit employee and a school crossing guard who was hit by debris.
Durso says the truck driver was backing up after failing to make a tight turn when the crossing gates came down. The truck driver was not seriously injured.
The truck was carrying paint. Witnesses tell WABC TV yellow & white paint was spilled all over the road.
No delays are reported on the Montclair-Boonton line.
