The sudden passing of Prince has people all over New Jersey and the U.S. mourning his Purpleness.

Prince didn't perform in New Jersey often — but he'd been here from time to time. According to one online tour history (New Jersey 101.5 hasn't yet been able to verify its completeness), he played New Jersey tour dates, including several at venues that are long gone or inactive.

He also played numerous shows at Madison Square Garden, Radio City, the old CoreStates Center in Philadelphia and smaller clubs and venues.

Among the shows was his 1982 concert at the Capital Theatre in Passaic, part of the Prince Controversy Tour. That was still two years before perhaps his most famous album, Purple Rain — but the "Controversy" album and tour featured sexual and sensual tunes like "Sexuality" and "Do Me, Baby" that helped define the singer for years.

Here's the list of tour dates we came up with. What are we missing? Add to the list and share your memories and pictures below, or tweet us at @NJ1015.
