Port Authority to Announce Penn Station Contract

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is set to announce a timetable for the long-awaited expansion of Penn Station.

Port executive director Patrick Foye is due to tour the site Tuesday where the first phase of construction is taking place. He's also expected to announce a construction contract connected to the project.

Phase I will expand the 33rd Street connector between Penn Station and the Farley post office building across 8th Avenue. It will create two new entrances into the station from the Farley building and improve access to tracks by adding escalators, elevators and stairways.
