BERGEN COUNTY


To mark the 240th Anniversary of the "times that try men's souls" the Bergen County Historical Society, along with Outwater's Militia and the Fourth Battalion, New Jersey Volunteers, invite you to join us for a weekend of living history and scholarly presentations. In addition to all of the buildings at Historic New Bridge Landing, reenactors from both Crown and Continental forces will be on hand to give the public a taste of what a soldier's life was like in the 18th Century. The weekend will be capped off by a reenactment of Washington's retreat over the "new bridge." Admission is $10 for Adults, and $7 for students (6-21 yrs). BCHS members are free. Come out and celebrate Science, Technology, Architecture and Math with the Roebling Museum. test your building skills and make something awesome with K'Nex. Engineer your own simple machine by building a a miniature catapult! 10 am - 4 pm.

West Hill Manor, along with Peachfield, will hold a Harvest House Tour. Both historic homes will be decorated for fall and the harvest season. Each will exhibit traditional Thanksgiving dinners - Peachfield's will be Colonial and West Hill's will be Victorian. Light refreshments will be served. Admission to both houses will be $10 per person. Hours are 1 - 4 pm.

High quality crafters and artists by invitation only; also local non-profit groups are represented, including Quilts of Valor, local Animal Rescue group, and others. Crafts include hand woven items with demonstrations, quilts, jewelry, pottery, baskets, turned wood, glass, and much more. Free Kids Can Craft area. Free Admission, but donations are gratefully accepted. 50/50 Raffle (do not need to be present for drawing), Chinese Auction including items donated by some of our crafters (do not need to be present for drawings). Music, food, fun, and it's all indoors. A jolly good time for all, plus it is just before the holiday rush. This is the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We have high marks from last year's show and expect this one to be even better. Don't miss it! Held indoors, the festival features vendors offering everything from knitted items to soaps to jewelry to baked goods to fine crafted woods and other unique items and foods for snacking.  Proceeds benefit the Voorhees High School Music Association, which supports the school's talented teen musicians and vocalists by providing instruments, enrichment opportunities and scholarships for Voorhees students. 9 am – 3 pm.
