A truck fire on the New Jersey Turnpike shut down the car lanes shut in Mercer County on Wednesday morning.

State Police spokesman Captain Stephen Jones said a tire blew out on a straight job truck in the outer lanes near Exit 7A (Route 195) around 10 a.m. causing it to go across the road, go through the guard rail and into the inner lanes where it caught fire.

Jones said the driver suffered abrasions and was the only vehicle involve

The guard rail was damaged for several feet, according to Jones, and repairs could keep lanes closed on both the inner and outer lanes.  Traffic was getting by on the shoulder as of noon

The Robbinsville Fire Department tweeted that they responded to the fire along with crews from Bordentown and Upper Freehold.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Jill Myra said it's easy to get around the area by exiting at Exit 7 for Route 206 and taking it to Route 195.  "You'll be on your way to Six Flags or wherever you're going in no time," Myra said.
