Newark man’s killer caught, cops say
Authorities say a man wanted in connection with the killing of a 64-year-old in Newark this week has been arrested.
Prosecutors told NJ.com that 37-year-old Nestor Francisco Canela was arrested in New York on Friday.
Authorities say Canela is accused of killing Charles Jeffery, in his Elm Street home in Newark on Thursday.
He is being held on $1 million bail in New York. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney to comment on the charges.
Police have not determined a motive for the killing. An investigation is ongoing.
