A coalition of leaders from government, industry and the private sector have broken ground on a complex in Newark that they hope will revitalize New Jersey's largest city.

Gov. Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker were joined Thursday by the CEO's of Google and Goldman Sachs as they unveiled the "Teacher's Village" complex in Newark.

Booker says the complex will include more than 200 rental apartments for Newark teachers, 70,000-square-feet of retail space, three charter schools and a day care center.

The developer says it's being financed by public and private investments.
