Naked man climbs South Jersey utility plant tower
A naked man has been talked down from a utility stack at Vineland's municipal electric plant.
The man ran inside the plant as employees began to arrive just before 8 a.m., made his way to the 195-foot tower and threatened to jump, according to the Press of Atlantic City. Police and fire crews arrived and closed down the streets around the plant.
He was yelling for someone named "Anna Rose" as an inflatable cushion was unrolled on the ground and police officers climbed to a platform.
According to a tweet from the Daily Journal, family members and clergymen joined rescue workers on bullhorns to convince the unidentified man to come down. He made it halfway before he stopped to "rest" and finally continued to the roof around 10 a.m. where he was met with a blanket and taken into custody.
