It's one thing for a teacher to give their all in the classroom, but when an educator shows dedication to students after the last bell rings, it's truly worthy of recognition.

Joe Ventre, who has been teaching at Middletown High School South for three years — with perfect attendance — not only helps his students embrace the unpopular subject of History, but he also supports their after school activities.

According to one of his students, Erin, Ventre attends all of the sporting events after school, even picking up the celebratory dinner tab when one of the girls' teams celebrated winning a state tournament.

"Mr,Ventre's positive attitude and dedication to this school has a positive impact on his students and their environment. He pushes students to exceed their ability and give their all 100 percent of the time," Erin said.
