CAPE MAY COUNTY


Saturday will feature a Health and Fitness Expo in the Wildwoods Convention Center from 10 am - 5 pm. Runners are asked to check in during this time while having the opportunity to shop for the latest in runner's gear and accessories. The Expo is also open to the public and admission is free. Sunday will feature the 26.2 mile marathon as well as a 10 mile run starting at 9 am through the scenic barrier islands of Cape May County, and a portion includes running the entire length of the Wildwoods Boardwalk. Also included are a 5K run and a 1.5 mile fun run.

Every year Beneath the Sea delivers almost 400 exhibitors and over 70 seminars reflecting all aspects of diving from equipment, destinations, medical issues, and diving safety, to underwater digital photography. Friday, high school and college students from schools across the New York Metro Area are invited to spend the entire day FREE at Beneath the Sea meeting with men and women who enjoy successful marine careers in the arts and sciences. Friday afternoon and again Friday night, Beneath the Sea celebrates local diving and local divers with presentations, clinics, seminars, symposiums, conferences, and workshops. This year we are honoring deep-sea explorer and scientist, Emory Kristof as Legend of the Sea and eminent underwater photographers, Howard and Michele Hall, as our Dive Pioneers. This year the Film Festival will feature a presentation of the underwater discovery of 45 pre-Christian wrecks and their artifacts, along with other films.

HUNTERDON COUNTY


Come get a taste of the local art while sampling some local craft! During this 2-hour event, participants will watch professional dancers in a warm up class and rehearsals while tasting local beer. There will also be a performance of repertoire, as well as a brief question and answer session with the dancers and the artistic director of the ballet. Snacks and wine will also be offered at this event. A different variety of beers will be available at each event. A donation of $15 in advance or $20 at the door is requested to attend Roxey Ballet's Beer and Ballet experience. This event is for adults age 21 and over, IDs will be checked at the door, no children please.

Terhune Orchards Read and Explore Program is our winter education series, following the popular seasonal Read and Pick Program. Our program is about Getting Ready for Spring. We will get ready to wake up from winter and prepare to start gardening. As St. Patrick's Day is the traditional day to plant peas and spinach and get the garden ready!  The program lasts about an hour and includes a story and educational segment. After story time, each child will plant seeds to take home. 10 am & 1 pm. Visit the New Jersey State Museum for SMASH: Prehistoric Adventure! Explore the intersections of science, fine art and history! Discover New Jersey's ancient life - there's so much more than dinosaurs! The March SMASH event will feature cool projects to explore footprint trackways, make Ice Age puppets, DIY fossils, and create an imaginative Cretaeous world (complete with volcanoes!) Please join us for children's Egg Hunts, Dog Photo Sessions, and more from 12:30 - 3:30 pm. All activities will be held outdoors at the sanctuary, and dogs (on leashes) are welcome! The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts (METC) is an official site for the 3rd Annual NJ Makers Day! This statewide event celebrates, promotes, and introduces "Maker Culture" a growing movement that encourages tinkering, science, technology, art, and math. METC will celebrate with a variety of hands-on projects for children of all ages. Tyler Merson of Codfish Park Design will lead a workshop on making handcrafted wooden tool kits and our education staff will present hands-on demonstrations of simple machines. Guests can also tour METC, a museum dedicated to the history of early trades and craftsman technology, the origin of the current "Maker culture."
