Man Catches Cheating Girlfriend and Gets Shot At

It’s one thing to catch your girlfriend with another guy, it gets worse when the other guy ends up shooting at you.

That’s what happened in Elizabeth where an 18-year-old Newark man showed up at the Econolodge Motel on Spring Street in Elizabeth. Nobody was wounded.

Police found the victim, a 18-year-old Newark man, who said he suspected his girlfriend was in a motel room with another man.

The victim told police he confronted the couple and a fight ensued between the two men, starting outside the room and continuing inside, Saulnier said.

According to the victim, during the struggle the other man pulled out a long-barrel revolver, Saulnier said. The Newark man turned and fled, but heard one shot fired.

Saulnier said the couple fled, and the victim called police.
