Maine TV Anchor Drops the Ball When Reporting Game 4 of the Celtics-Heat Series

We realize that reporters sometime make a mistake on air. Not every reporter is always extremely versed on what they’re reporting but with the help of a good producer and a teleprompter, they can fake their way through it. Then, there is Portland, Maine TV anchor Meghan Torjussen, who apparently had neither of these to help her through this report.Torjussen reported that Game 4 of the NBA  Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat ended in an 89-89 tie. Wait, what? Yep, that’s right sports fans, the game that actually ended in a 93-91 OT win for the Boston Celtics, was reported to end in a tie according to this reporter.

Now we could understand if Torjussen doesn’t understand the nuances of certain basketball plays but she doesn’t know that an NBA playoff game can’t end in a tie? That’s just wrong. Torjussen even refers to her producer when announcing the score. Is no one a basketball fan at that news station? Have we met the female Ron Burgundy?

BTW: According to her Facebook page and her bio on the WMTW website, Torjussen is a Jersey Girl, raised in Glen Ridge and a graduate of Montclair Kimberley Academy!
