Macy’s July 4th Fireworks Returning to East River
The Macy's 4th of July fireworks show will return to the East River this year.
The Daily News reports that the annual display will be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge and barges on the East River.
Mayor Bill de Blasio told the paper he was thrilled that after years of working with Macy's and others to make it a reality, the fireworks would return to the East River.
The dazzling display was moved to the Hudson River in 2009 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage up the river.
The News says the fireworks performance is expected to rotate between the two rivers in the future. Details were not available.
The mayor and Macy's were set to make an official announcement on Monday.
