Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and now is the time where people are thinking about their relationships. Bill Spadea wanted to get a relationship therapist to weigh in on how to handle the holiday.

Liz Mandel thinks a common issue with couples around Valentine's Day is that date who they think they should be with rather than who is right for them. She mentions valuing security over everything else.

Liz's advice for long term positive change within a relationship is self-awareness of the kinks in their relationship, and she describes her motive for working with couples is to get them on the path to self-awareness.

As for a rubric for Valentine's Day, she provides suggestions on what to do for every stage of your relationship, whether it's been going on for a few months or a marriage.

Check out all of Liz Mandel's advice for Valentine's Day in the clip above.
