Light Spectacular Possible on Saturday Night

It's still not certain if radiation from a solar flare on Thursday may trigger a spectacular northern lights show for us on tonight.

The timing is the key as  to whether or not we get to see the light show around 8 p.m. according to Accuweather.com.

It won't be clear until that time if we will have a view or not.  Astronomers say you should pollution and be patient.

If radiation from the flares, traveling at a rate of 1,000km per second,  reaches Earth much later than that chances are New Jersey will miss the light show. However, if the sticks to schedule we're in for a vibrant color show in the sky that will be visible in the northern United States.

Skies will be clear on Saturday night across New Jersey.

The radiation may also cause interference with cell phones, GPS and radio, causing them to cut in-and-out.
