I don’t know how I missed this story yesterday, but a New Jersey mom is suing her board of ed because her daughter broke her ankle playing touch football on wet grass. It was part of a gym class the 13 year old was participating in early in the day.

The grass was still heavy with dew and when the girl tried to cut, she slipped and fell and wrenched her ankle. To put her back together, plates and screws were put in her foot and her family says that will prevent her from walking normally for the rest of her life. The Parsippany family is suing for negligence because they feel the middle school should have known the conditions were hazardous since other students had slipped during previous outings. The family’s lawyer says she won’t be able to run or engage in other physical activities for the rest of her life.
