A lawsuit alleges a Catholic priest who allegedly embezzled nearly $1 million from his church to pay for a male prostitute and buy a house in Brick.

On Thursday, a complaint was filed in the Supreme Court of New York alleging that the Rev. Peter Miqueli of New York City used church money to fund a lavish lifestyle that included paying a prostitute $1,000 a session to act out his "sexual fantasies." Miqueli is accused in the lawsuit of purchasing a Brick home for $264,000 with money skimmed from collection plates at his parishes.

The prostitute, identified as Keith Crist, engaged in a bondage-sadism-masochism relationship in which he role-played as the "sexual master" and made Miqueli the "slave," the lawsuit alleges.

It says Miqueli stolen money from a church thrift store as well, and used the money to take frequent overseas trips. It alleges he spent $60,000 on illegal drugs to use with Christ and paid for a Park Avenue appartment for him.

Miqueli allegedly took donations from two different parishes he presided over between 2003 and 2012.

Parishioners, according to the lawsuit, had long-complained of Miqueli's chronic absenteeism, as well as his inadequate money management. The priest kept the church’s cash collections in tote bags and never kept a tally, the suit claimed.

Miquel served at two New York churches, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church on Roosevelt Island from 2003 to 2012 and at St. Frances De Chantal, where he was appointed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

The suit accuses the Archdiocese of being "negligent, careless and reckless," for failing to supervise Miquel.
