Komen Race for a Cure this Sunday – How you can help

Many people have had their lives touched by breast cancer in one form or another.

My wife Deneen is an 8-year-survivor who found out after our twins were born. Now, thanks to events like the Race for the Cure, there are more and more survivors.

The 8^th Annual Race for the Cure will take place this Sunday May 3^rd at Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange.

Registration opens at 6:30am.

The Race for a Cure, is a 5k walk/run with a color run for kids. Walk- ins are welcome. This years Survivor Ambassador and Special guest is Joan Lunden.

Some facts about the Komen Race for a Cure:

• Did you know that 75% of the money raised stays local, with the other 25%  going to a National research fund?

• Did you also know that every major cancer breakthrough has been funded through a Komen Grant?
