It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s Chris Christie
Chris Christie has been the subject of books, comedy sketches, had his own radio show with NJ 101.5's Ask the Governor, is a master of Twitter, appeared on a sitcom and numerous talk and news shows, adorned magazine covers and is now ready to take on another media platform: comic books.
There's no tights or super powers here. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the subject of the Political Power series of comic books which have featured over 30 political figures including Bill Clinton, former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, President Obama,Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Ted Kennedy.
Bluewater Comics assigned East Brunswick native Michael Frizell to write the book, which is available in both a regular edition for $3.99 and a limited edition cover for $9.99 at Comicfleamarket.com.
“I’m originally from East Brunswick, N.J., and I have relatives who live in Monroe Township and East Brunswick, so it was important to me that I reflect a love for the state while telling Christie’s story," Frizell told Politico. "It’s evident that Chris Christie is a fierce and proud advocate for the state of New Jersey.”
He said he wrote about Bridgegate "delicately" as the comic's final chapter.
"Since this is an ongoing issue likely to come up during the election cycle, I leave the story with a bit of a cliffhanger. Perhaps I’ll have the chance to revisit the story of Chris Christie should he be reelected or move up.”
