Is Gov. Christie just a figurehead for New Jersey at this point?

Judi kicked off the day talking about Governor Christie's trip to Mexico to discuss foreign interests. While this is being reported as a vital economic trade mission for New Jersey, is this more symbolic of the governor ditching us than anything else?
