Let's cut to the chase, it'll cost you big-time. But in this case, it's for charity. Bruce Springsteen is prepping his solo run on the Great White Way and opening night (Thursday, October 12) is by invite-only. Until now, with a 'blind auction' to benefit Broadway Caress/Equity Fights AIDS. The suggested minimum bid is $25,000. That's for one seat.

So, if you've got thousands to spare, go ahead and take a shot. The submissions close on Thursday and highest bidders will be notified by Broadway Cares on Friday.

As for the rest of us, we're left wondering what 'Springsteen on Broadway' itself will be like, when the curtain rises next month. Springsteen is slated to perform five nights a week through February. Will it be harmonica-heavy, like solo Bruce often is? Will Springsteen be sharing tales from his memoir, like the time he 'left Freehold for good'?

Here's a couple songs & a book passage to get ticket-holders ready and make the ticket-less sad all over again. (And for Bruce haters, why are you even still reading this?)
