Exactly when did the NFL become the WWE? We hear about how concerned the league is with player safety, then we watch as Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is nearly decapitated by Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

My wife, who is a physical therapist, had to turn away from the repeated replays. This play was followed by successive 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties that put the Steelers in position to kick the winning field goal.

Earlier this season, Giants fans watched as Odell Beckham Jr. went on a personal tirade against Carolina Panther, Josh Norman, that not only probably cost his team the game had he been more focused but probably contributed to getting his coach Tom Coughlin fired.

What’s ironic is watching this type of stuff happening during the games then hearing about how much the NFL is making it safer to play. The referees did nothing during the Beckham-Norman smackdown.

What the NFL has going for it is that there are two reasons to watch (other than the enjoyment of the game or rooting for your team): sports betting and fantasy football. There is more money moved in there than you can ever imagine. So much so that Governor Christie would love to get some of it for New Jersey.

In your opinion, how much more of what you’ve been seeing in today’s NFL can you take? Do you feel there will ever come a time when fans will say “enough” or will that only last until your team plays on Sunday?
