Superintendent Cami Anderson and union president Joseph Del Grosso signed the agreement Thursday afternoon at a Newark school. It goes to teachers for a vote on Oct. 29.

The contract allows for teachers to receive up to $12,500 in pay tied to performance reviews. The merit pay is funded mostly by the $100 million grant to the Newark schools from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The contract also sets up a new teacher peer review process.
