Dems cling to Bridgegate

Even though the buzz surrounding Bridgegate has been muted, Democrats won't let go of the scandal.

In fact, they claim they are moving closer to linking Gov. Chris Christie to the lane closures.

A new report states that a Port Authority police lieutenant, who grew up with Christie, ate breakfast with David Wildstein as the traffic mess was unfolding last year.

Lt. Thomas Michaels told investigators he toured Wildstein around the Fort Lee, but did not discuss anything substantive with Wildstein beyond his account that it was for a traffic study.

This, however, is far from a smoking gun connecting Christie to the scandal. It appears to be more of a desperate attempt to keep the Bridgegate story afloat.
