Bush's Beans recalling several varieties: Check your pantries

Bush's, one of the largest baked bean brands, has announced a recall for a few varieties due to an issue with the company's cans.

Bush's Best announced a recall of a few lots of its 28-ounce cans of Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans, Country Style Baked Beans, and Original Baked Beans because of leaky seams.

The company said in a statement the problem was caught internally and it believes it was caused by a "temporary quality issue from one of our can suppliers." The statement also said the problem had been addressed and corrected.

"As a fourth-generation family-owned business, we are guided by our values of integrity, caring, responsibility, and trust, and we apologize for any inconvenience or concern this situation may cause," the statement said.

The statement also said that no illnesses or other issues have been reported since the problem was identified, but the company said anyone who has potentially affected cans should throw them out if they look or smell spoiled.
