A school bus accident in southern New Jersey has caused minor injuries to more than a dozen students.

Police in Galloway Township say about 30 students from the Smithville Elementary School were riding in the bus at about 3:30 p.m. when it collided with a 1997 Ford Explorer.

The bus was making a left turn at an intersection at the time.

Eighteen students were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. The driver of the Explorer was taken by helicopter to Cooper Hospital in Camden.
