Saw a tweet from U.S. Senator Cory Booker labeling the latest Executive Order from President Trump as a "Muslim Ban." It got me thinking about how ignorant some politicians have become, or is this a case of outright deception?  Booker certainly is an educated man.  Clearly he has the ability to read and interpret complicated concepts right.  After all, he did attend Stanford University and Yale Law School.

So with all of this formal education and his experience as a big city mayor and now U.S Senator, how  does he not comprehend the latest 'Travel Ban"?  According to the language of the 'ban' there is absolutely no connection to any religious test as the nations named were also a part of what were declared "countries of concern" in a 2015 law signed by President Obama.

The current Executive Order also specifically states that there is no basis to discriminate based on religion.  Further destroying the claim that this is a "Muslim Ban" as stated by Sen. Booker, there are dozens of majority Muslim nations not covered by the Order.

Executive Order 13769 did not provide a basis for discriminating for or against members of any particular religion.  While that order allowed for prioritization of refugee claims from members of persecuted religious minority groups, that priority applied to refugees from every nation, including those in which Islam is a minority religion, and it applied to minority sects within a religion.

Here's a link to the official White House site so you can read the entire order for yourself.

Despite the fact that the President is well within the scope of power outlined in the U.S. Constitution and subsequent U.S. Code. And the 'ban' has no religious component, other than to provide prioritization for persecuted religious minorities; And the 'ban' is temporary to provide for proper vetting compliance with named countries, politicians like Cory Booker still use the words, "Muslim Ban."

So I have to ask, is Booker actually ignorant of the truth despite his education credentials, or is he purposely trying to stoke the flames of intolerance and race baiting in order to provide a bounce for his stalled career?

If he had the courage to speak to you by coming on the show we might better know the answer.  But since our invitation yesterday, we've heard nothin' but crickets.
