Body Found as Police Search for Slain Cranford Woman

Police are not yet saying whether a body found in Newark over the weekend is the Cranford woman who authorities say was killed by her boyfriend.

Police have been searching for 43-year-old April Wyckoff since late last week.

A woman's body was found off Raymond Boulevard on Sunday. Wyckoff's car was discovered in Newark last week.

Authorities have charged 43-year-old Matthew Ballister III, who is being held on $2 million bail. They believe he killed Wyckoff in his Union Township home sometime on Tuesday evening.

Chief of Detectives Anthony Ambrose of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office tells The Star-Ledger of Newark identification of the body is pending further investigation.
