Authorities: 4 shot, wounded in violent weekend in Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Four people were wounded in three separate shootings that occurred during a violent weekend in New Jersey's largest city.
It's not clear if any of the shootings were linked, but Newark police tell NJ.com that the incidents may be connected to a recent string of robberies in the area.
All of the wounded victims remained hospitalized Sunday in stable condition, and it didn't appear that any of the injuries were life-threatening. No arrests have been made.
The first shooting was reported around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, after a 15-year-old Newark girl sought treatment at a hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg. A 17-year-old boy was found wounded about two hours later, and two Irvington residents were wounded in a street shooting early Sunday.
