Amber Alert Cancelled for Lodi Boys

New Jersey State Police say 2 young boys whose mother was found fatally stabbed have been recovered safe in South Carolina.

State police cancelled the Amber Alert for the boys ages 7 and 8 early Saturday morning.

In a press release the Bergen County Proseuctor's Office said John Jordan,47, and his two sons Nicholas and Anthony arrived at a home in Greenville, South Carolina at approximately 12:45 a.m. early Saturday morning. The boys were found safe in the grey Honda belonging to their mother. Jordan was arrested without incident and charged with murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

New Jersey State Police and a number of law enforcement agencies orked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) police to set up surveillance at the homes of John Jordan's family in South Carolina and California.

The Prosecutor's Office says bail will be set upon Jordan's first appearance in a New Jersey courtroom.

Police in Lodi began searching for Anthony and Nicholas Jordan on Friday evening after police said they were taken from their elementary school by their father under false pretenses.  Tracy Jordan, 39,  was found stabbed to death in her home in the Cynthia Gardens apartments when police responded to a call from a concerned family member according to the Prosecutor's Office. 

John and Tracy Jordan are described as being "estranged" by police. NBC 4 New York reports Tracy had been dating another man for about a year.  The Record reports that their divorce was to be finalized on Friday or Saturday.
