A Listener Gives an Interesting Perspective on Government, Politicians and Voters

We received this email courtesy of Joe from Somerset and thought we would share his interesting take on voters’ gripes about the actions of our government and local politicians.

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who use campaign fund for their own gain;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who approve raises for themselves or their “friends”;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who won’t let them speak at committee meetings;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who divert important issues by introducing bills that are unimportant;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who pat themselves on the back for accomplishing nothing;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who people think are great, but reality shows they have done little to nothing to fix the problems;

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians.

These politicians are not doing anything wrong. They make the rules, so how could they be doing anything wrong. Even if they are, it’s not their fault, it’s someone else’s fault.

The politicians get away with what they want, why wouldn’t they…..

Jim, this country, the state and the city government is screwed up, IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER, not as long as the people keep re-electing these same people.

I feel that it’s like a person who wants has a problem with their house, they hire a contractor to fix it, the contractor turns out to be a terrible contractor, shows up but doesn’t fix the problem. Another problem arises in the house, the home owner hires the same contractor, again it’s not fixed. Another problem arises, again the same contractor is hired, again, not fixed. When asked why they keep hiring the same contractor that hasn’t fixed anything, they say he’s a nice guy and he goes to my church and I always hire people from my church….

Same thing with re-electing the same politicians that broke the system and caused the problems in the first place, they don’t want to fix the problem or they just don’t know how….

I find it just amazing how people are complaining about politicians who you re-elected and keep re-electing. Maybe it’s not the politicians fault, it’s the voters for re-electing these politicians for what they do wrong, or for what they don’t do at all.
