For those of us who own an iPhone, storage capacity could pose a problem.

Just like most of you, I store hundreds of photos and lots of apps on my iPhone. Having lots of photos, videos and apps can take up a lot of storage space on your phone.

I searched around the internet to see how I could free up some space on my iPhone.  I chose some easy ways to free up that precious storage space.

1.  Check your usage

You have to find out what's taking up the most space on your phone.

To do this, open "settings".  Then press "general", "usage", and "manage storage."

After you follow these steps the phone will tell you how much space you have used and how much space is available.

One very important thing you'll see is a list of your apps.  You will find out which apps take up the most space.

2.  Look for internal apps downloads

Lots of apps by themselves may not take up too much storage space.  If you have things like songs, photos or videos on that app, it's taking up a whole bunch of your storage space.

3.  Delete apps you don't use

Are you still playing "Angry Birds" or "Candy Crush"?

Go through your app inventory.  If you don't or rarely use that app, delete it.

4.  Videos and podcasts

If you're storing this type of information on your iPhone, re-think if you need to keep that video or old podcast.  They take up a tremendous amount of space.

5.  Messages and texts

If you're up to date with iOS 8, you can set your phone to automatically delete old messages.  This will give you back more space as well.
