Ahh, Trenton makes, the world takes. This was once the case! Back in the 19th and early 20th centuries to be exact. Now? Not so much. But despite Trenton no longer making, nor the world taking, the sign claiming the city still does will be getting a brand new makeover.

Believe it or not, about 100 years ago, Trenton was home to some of the biggest rubber, wire rope, and ceramics manufacturers anywhere in the world! Then somewhere along the way things changed for the worst. Fast forward to today and the leading employer in Trenton by far is, you guessed it, the state of New Jersey. It's not only a hotbed for crime, but also political corruption.

Instead of making the sign change colors every so often, I propose they change the slogan completely. Change it to something that reflects the current state of Trenton.

Some ideas that come to mind immediately:

1. Don't stop at that light, this time of night

2. Christie shakes, Trenton quakes

3. Christie laughs, the state takes half

4. Taxes boom, impending doom

5. It's all a con, all jobs are gone
