JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Seventeen people were displaced by a fast-moving fire that damaged three homes in Jersey City.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was reported around 10:20 a.m. Sunday at a home on Stevens Avenue in Jersey City. It was brought under control about 45 minutes later.
The Jersey Journal reports the fire started in a two-story home, and the second-floor of that residence was gutted. Two adjacent homes primarily sustained water damage.
Sixteen adults and a child were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross was supplying aid and other assistance to several of those people.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
