New Jersey is on the verge of changing its medical marijuana laws to ease access for sick children.

Advocates say one of the changes could be significant for many patients.

The Assembly is scheduled to vote Monday on a measure that would eliminate a regulation that lets licensed dispensaries grow no more than three strains of cannabis.

Advocates say that will let the growers provide a broader range of types of marijuana that could help specific medical conditions.

Lawmakers had already voted for the change. Gov. Chris Christie conditionally vetoed the bill but left in the change that would end the cap on strains.

The state Senate has already accepted his changes. If the Assembly passes the bill, it goes back to Christie for his signature.
