Woman stabbed Union City man to death, cops say

UNION CITY — Police say a Guttenberg woman stabbed a Union City man to death in his bedroom this weekend.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said Catelin D, Hichos, 23, of Guttenberg was arrested in connection with the death of Kevin Argueta, 22 on Saturday inside his Mountain Road home. Police found Argueta unresponsive with multiple sharp force injuries to his body and pronounced dead at the scene according to Suarez.

Suarez did not disclose a motive or the nature of the relationship between Argueta and Hichos.

Saurez said Hichos was arrested several hours later and charged with charged with aggravated manslaughter contrary and several weapons related offenses. It wasn't clear from a statement by the prosecutor how Hichos was implicated in the killing.

Hichos is being held pending $500,000 bail.
