Rachel Atkinson pleaded guilty Wednesday in Superior Court in Hunterdon County during the third day of testimony in her trial on charges she murdered 86-year-old Arthur Seiple in his Raritan Township home.

Atkinson faced murder, burglary, weapons and hindering-related charges.

The 30-year-old Atkinson had initially been charged along with her former roommate, Nicole Kelly, who pleaded guilty to burglary and lesser charges in exchange for testifying against Atkinson and serving three years in prison.

Prosecutors tell The Hunterdon County Democrat that they'll recommend a 25-year prison sentence for Atkinson.

Investigators said Atkinson knew the victim and had briefly lived in his condominium.
