A 74-year-old woman ran a red light turning off Business Route 1 on Saturday morning, injuring three people, including one critically, according to Lawrence Township police.

Restituta Adriani was headed north and turning onto Darrah Lane around 7:30 a.m. when she struck two cars headed southbound, critically injuring a 54-year-old Lawrence woman who was a passenger on one of the southbound vehicles.

Also injured were a 31-year-old Lawrence woman and a 10-year-old child in the second vehicle, according to police.

Adriani was charged with assault by auto, reckless driving and failure to obey a traffic signal. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be involved in the accident. Adriani was not injured in the crash.

Business Route 1 was closed for several hours for an investigation and cleanup.
