The reason, Christie said, is simple: governor's are just better at governing, with experience running large government enterprises.

Christie made the comments as he continued his post-Election Day victory lap.

On Thursday, he was in Florida wrapping up his tenure as head of the Republican Governor's Association, which saw him raise record amounts of money.

He also oversaw the flipping of key states from blue to red in November's elections.

The feat is earning Christie a heap of praise from Republicans, who could turn into rivals in the coming months as the 2016 presidential process begins.
