A man at a town hall meeting Wednesday asked Christie why he didn't tell President Barack Obama to "get the hell off the White House" during the speech.

Christie famously told people to "get the hell off the beach" before Hurricane Irene hit last year.

Christie said a speech before millions of people wasn't the time for him to "go out there and lambaste the president of the United States."

Christie said the tactic doesn't sway voters.

Instead, Christie wanted to highlight the differences between Republicans and Democrats and make the case for Republicans.
