The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will host a webinar on the Paris attacks at 2 p.m. Monday.

Officials from New York will join the webinar as well. The "Paris Attacks: Update and Implications" is open to the public.

To view the webinar, visit the Homeland Security Office's website. The webinar will open early at 1:30 p.m. to give guests time to log in and download or enable any plugins that may be required.

In addition, on Wednesday, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will host the 2015 Violent Extremist Speaker Series at Kean University.

The office said it would be "bringing in nationally recognized subject matter experts to provide greater insight into the current state of extremism around the world and how those threats from abroad are impacting us here in the U.S."

More information on that program is available on the office's site as well.

"We strongly encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement. No lead is too small," New Jersey Homeland Security and Preparedness Director Chris Rodriguez said. "You can do so by calling 1-866-4-SAFE-NJ, by emailing tips@njohsp.gov, or by connecting with us on Facebook and Twitter at @NJOHSP."
